Know Your End-Of-Lease Options

Whether you're already driving a leased Subaru from Subaru of Wakefield or you're considering adding a new leased Subaru to your Boston MA drive, you'll want to be well aware of your end-of-lease options. Leasing a new Subaru car, SUV, or wagon is a great financial opportunity that many Belmont MA, Wakefield, and beyond drivers take advantage of.

Why lease a new Subaru? There are many benefits that come with leasing. Not only are leases a short-term commitment, but they also tend to cost less a month and have lower start-up costs.

Lease Return

How Do You Return A Lease?

When your lease is getting close to its end, you'll begin to receive reminders that it's time to consider your end-of-lease options. You'll then need to start the end-of-lease process.

Approaching the End of the Lease

  • Review End-Of-Lease Options
  • Pre-Inspection - A couple months before your turn-in date, you'll need to have your Subaru inspected for excess wear and tear. This free inspection is used to determine if there are any added wear and tear items that need to be fixed before the lease is returned.
  • Excess Wear and Use Statement - In about two or three weeks before your turn-in date, you'll receive an Excess Wear and Use Statement that provides estimates for any issues that need to be repaired. Fixing any problems will help lower your wear and tear fees.

Before Turning in Your Vehicle

  • Schedule Your Lease Return - Make sure that the turn-in date fulfills your contractual obligations to avoid early turn-in fees.
  • Contact DMV About Registration Requirements
  • Prepare Your Vehicle - Remove your personal items, find all sets of keys, clear digital information, make sure every leased item is in the vehicle (like owner's manual, spare tires, etc.)

Day Of

  • Bring the Completed Odometer Statement
  • Inform us of Turn-In Details - You can turn your lease Subaru into any connected Subaru dealership. We'll need to know the name and address of the retailer, date and time, mileage, and the name of the person who helped you.
  • See if You Qualify for Loyalty Credits or Waivers - Provide us with the VIN of the next vehicle you lease or buy to see if you earn any credits or waivers.

After You Turn-In Your Vehicle

  • Fill out the Lease Turn-In Form - Use this online form or contact us within one business day.
  • Cancel Recurring Payments
  • Pay Lease-End Bill
