ASPCA Awarded Over $1.4 Million in Subaru "Share the Love" Event

      ASPCA and PAWS Share the Love Winners

Hi everyone

 

We had an excellent day yesterday, thanks to all of you for all you did to help make this year's event a success!

 

So, before giving you the results, I first want to acknowledge everyone that helped make it possible.  Thank you to:

• Sal Barbagallo and all our friends at Subaru for hosting the event

• Our planning and onsite team for all your work before and during the event:  Abby, Barry, Becky and Mike, Cally, Charlotte, Chuck, Diane H, Elaine, Ellie M, Hannah, Heather, Kevin (Santa), Lori D, Marybeth, Nancy, Pat D (Elf), Peggy, Robin R, and Tom;

• Kristen & Mark Cardoza and our 8th grade team members: Samantha Cardoza, Erin Holbrook, Sarah Nasser, Sarah Choviakh for designing, preparing and passing out the goodie bags and posting flyers around town.
• All of our fosters who brought their cats and/or are working with the adoption leads generated from the event

 

• Joy & Joice and their team from MUSH and JeanMarie and Tiffany Goday from Echo Dogs who joined us with their dogs and information about their rescues
• VCA vet techs Jen Park and Renee Landry for providing nail trims and microchipping services
• Dr .Beth Innis of Sleepy Dog Acupuncture and Holistic Home Care who shared her expertise at our "Ask the Vet" table

• Evangeline of A Touch of Solitude for supporting PAWS with her raffle for a massage
• Elaine of AdopTees with her creative t-shirt designs and products supporting local shelters
• Bryant Gauthier from Boston Sports Club with free 1-week membership passes for everyone

• Mix 104.1 for advertising our event, providing music and prizes in the parking lot
• Honey Dew Donuts for providing coffee and donuts
• John Pellegrino for your help in getting our event in more papers and on the radio and TV

• Kathy who managed our table at the Alternative Gift Fair that ran simultaneously while most of us were at Subaru

• And for our latest PAWS dog, Gizmo, for behaving himself:-)

Also, thanks to Elaine for inviting us to her home for some wine and munchies after the event.  It was a great way to wind down after a long day.  And to Lori C and her team for covering the gift-wrapping services at Barnes and Noble this morning.

Now for the results! In addition to all of the adoption matches made and new friends we met, we raised over $1500 for PAWS this weekend.

Good job everyone! 

Thanks for all of your hard work.  The Share the Love campaign continues through Jan 3 so we still have time to add to our overall results and prepare our entry for the national ASPCA Share the Love contest with cash prizes to go to winning shelters.

PS  We are looking forward to working with Subaru next year, so save Saturday, December 8, 2012 as the tentative date for the event.

Also, please let me know if you have any ideas for improving and/or expanding this event next year. We hope you will all plan to participate again.
